Team Project | 01 Ethnography Study

For our first project I learned about all the research that goes into a design before the product is built. I was able to understand the importance of all stakeholders know how the product will affect the needs of each stakeholder. After gathering our research we had the chance to present our the information in a formal style in order to target a specific audience.

Our team focused on playground slides that are used by elementary students. During the project our primary goal was to gather all the information that would be necessary to know before designing a slide. We found this information through online sources and a first hand observation at an elementary school. Some of the information we collected involved stakeholders, observations, needs, and safety standards. From this point we organized the information into a presentation that would be used in a professional setting. When presenting the research we gathered we also made interpretations and conclusions based on patterns or common themes we found.

From the first team project I was able to improve and learn several new skills. I improved my communication skills through working with my group and sharing our findings. I also improved my technical communication with the presentation of our research. When learning how to gather the information needed I gained a new understanding of stakeholders, needs, and standards for a specific product.
